"X" Meets Zeb & Perez
Over 85 people showed up for The X Show at RAGE last night (awesome for our fourth week!) for special guests, muscle hunk Zeb Atlas and famed celeb gossip blogger Perez Hilton. Thank God for Susie being on hand to take such wonderful photos and thank God for Angel Benton reminding me of what happened on stage throughout the evening! Sometimes the stress and the pace of the whole thing makes it seems like a dream and coming out of it, I don't even remember what just went down for two hours! Angel actually was the one who suggested Perez Hilton as a guest for the event too as he had recently interviewed him for his Fuji Television show in Japan. So! Perez Hilton. What can I say about Perez? First of all, I have yet to see any photo of him that really captures how absolutely adorable he is in person. More than adorable actually, he's fucking cute as hell! He's passionate and energetic but just a little shy in all the right places, which usually makes for one hell of a kisser! Oh, and he has huge hands and feet by the way. So maybe those rumors about his member are true.
We talked about the size of his manhood actually. Albeit a bit reluctantly on his part. I mentioned the scandalous discovery of his Manhunt profile recently and he claims that the photos were very old. When I asked how big it is, he asked about the size of mine! I told him it's around 8, maybe a little over. He said his was about the same. I asked him what he felt it took to be a good diva. "I think you have to be crazy," Hilton said, "and I think Lindsay Lohan is a perfect example of that." He crowned her the modern day Liz Taylor, being both talented and crazy. We talked Britney, of course, and how disappointed he is in her downward spiral as a newly single mother of two. Everyone knows he's posted a good handful of Britney snatch shots on his site, PerezHilton.com, in the past few days, and he says Kevin is looking better and better in his eyes by the day. Another celeb smackdown came at the mention of Maggie Gyllenhal, who according to Hilton, when attending the Sundance Film Festival, was at one of the swag suites accepting free gifts but refusing to have her picture taken. "If you're gonna take the stuff, at least take a fuckin' picture with it!" he blasted.
Sounds almost like Kathy Griffin, doesn't it? More scandal, it seems he's in a feud with the funny girl celebrity these days, to which he sneered, "Kathy Griffin's a celebrity?" Classic. Apparently she's made two digs at him and his work, which of course, makes her a hypocrite because he's only calling people out just like she does for a living. Though, to Hilton's knowledge, the whole thing started over his outing of Lance Bass. "I don't call it outing!" he clarified. "I just call it reporting! And a lot of times I'm kidding. Like when I'm saying I think Jake Gyllenhal is gay, I don't really think he is."
Still, there's quite a few he's NOT kidding about and claims to know are gay. He went down the list as he publically outed from the X Show stage Kevin Spacey, Jodie Foster, Wentworth Miller, Bryan Adams, Matt Dallas and even gay porn star Mario Cruz's escort affair with Clay Aiken, who happened to actually be in the audience! Also in the audience was adult entertainment impresario Chi Chi LaRue, Cybersocket editor and Cocktails with the Stars host Scott Boardman, go-go God Adam Killian, manager to the gay porn stars David Forest (who arranged Zeb's appearance at the show), escort extraordinnare Rusty, gay porn director Ross Cannon, BoiFromTroy blogger Scott and porn stars Scott Swan, Lex Sabre and Brandon Baker who was donning a delightfully ridiculous wig and I'm not sure anyone knows why or if anyone even questioned it! Zeb Atlas kicked off the second half of the show with a nearly ten minute feature dance performance, coming out into the audience to give patrons nearly nude lap dances! He talked about how honored he is to have been named Men Magazine's "Man of the Year" for the second time now and how he never had any idea his fame would explode so much. Atlas says that although all of his relationships have been with women, he's not opposed to the idea of having a relationship with a guy and that in the bedroom he "gets along" with both men and women equally.
He's growing his hair out these days and says he probably will until February when he will shave it all off again.
He recently released his first movie from Zeb Atlas Productions, A God in Paradise, and has another movie with Mark Dalton scheduled for release soon. "There's lots of touching!" he says and hinted that he wouldn't mind making his first gay sex scene with Dalton later in the trilogy. Zeb is extremely polite. He was very sweet, well mannered and a charming interview, not to mention every inch a star. His performance really wowed the crowd more than anything we've had at the X Show so far and when it came time for his autograph session, they were lined up almost literally out the back door.
I mean, there were two guys who flew out from Baltimore just to see him at The X Show! If that doesn't say everything there is to say about Zeb, I don't know what does!
I will be safe in my frame.
My theme song of the week is Tori Amos's "Parasol" from her last album, The Beekeeper. Here's a rare live version of it from her Yahoo! Launch performance. You can download the album version free on my MySpace page at: http://www.myspace.com/jasonsechrestI think "Parasol" is about fear, in particular fear of being hurt and fear of progress. We all have these fears but how we deal with them is where we differ. We can hide beneath our personal parasols where we're safe from... well, sun cancer I guess. But then you never get to really see or feel the sun for yourself.
My Birthday Dinner
Every year I have an intimate birthday dinner with just my closest friends and it's always interesting to see how that invite-list changes through the years. LOL! This year the soiree was attended by Mikey, Susie, Shannon, Angel and Jonathan Chang. Others invited but unable to attend were Tom, Drew Warner, Brandon Baker, Kyle Foxxx and Caleb Carter. Most were out of town but for those who were in town -- boys, I totally understand! If it hadn't been my own birthday, I wouldn't have gone! After a long, holiday weekend, it was the last thing any of us probably wanted to do before having to get back to the work week, but I do appreciate everyone showing up and having a fun couple of hours with food, drinks and the best birthday cake ever! (Thanks Susie!) Susie got me an awesome sweater from Kenneth Cole that I am loving. I want to live in it! I got a new yoga mat (which I really needed) and work out socks from Shannon, a gift card to Bath & Body Works from Angel and a bag of snowflakes to decorate with from Jonathan Chang. My mom sent me a hot throw to match my bed and my dad sent me a package but I've yet to make it to my mailbox today. I have some packages from you constant readers too sitting here that I've yet to open. Some of you have been sweet enough to send something every year and I will hit you up individually as soon as I open them.Hope your holiday weekend was as delightful as mine! :-)
Are You a Liza or a Barbra?
Another early morning yesterday as Mikey and I headed to Vegas at 10:00 am. He's been feeling a little under the weather so I drove there and back in the same day, which although I really do love road trips, can be one hellatious journey. By the time we got home at 2:00 am, I crashed hard for 8 hours. It was a fun day though! And truth be told, the road trip itself was probably my favorite part; playing truth or dare with Mikey, listening to music, talking about our relationship, our goals for the future, etc. I'm a sucker for all that shit. We walked around the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace where we ran into Roman Heart who was hanging with friends and going to see Toni Braxton in concert later that evening. He tells me he is off to Indiana (my home state) to "meet a boy" but is looking very forward to coming back to Los Angeles to do The X Show at RAGE on Tuesday, December 5th. He looked freaking gorgeous and when I went to hug him I could feel his cock pushing up against leg. (What was he, on viagra, wearing a cock ring?!) It made the hug last a little longer than it probably should have, but what a lovely birthday treat to run into him and his penis literally. Mikey took me to an awesome dinner buffet at Caesar's where we gorged and then pushed on to the Luxor to hang for a bit before seeing Liza Minnelli in concert. Now, constant readers will remember we saw her there in October, so I will say that it was the exact same set list except one very, very special treat: She added the song "You've Let Yourself Go" (originally from the album Liza with a Z) that she hadn't sung live in many years. So why are we seeing her again when we just saw her at the same venue a month ago? Well, for one thing, tickets to Liza are always relatively inexpensive and Las Vegas is just a hop, skip and a jump away. But my main reasoning is this: How many people in history can say they saw Barbra Streisand and Liza Minnelli perform in the same week? Much less the same week as their birthday! One thing Mikey and I really noticed about the two shows is the vast difference between the two legendary divas' personalities. The self-confessed reclusive, paranoid and often plagued with fear Barbra Streisand plays sold out stadiums for thousands of dollars a ticket and yet is often seen performing with a scowl on her face, usually complains about the world in general from the stage and for the most part seems unhappy or at the very least unappreciative to be there. The social butterfly and "never say die" Liza Minnelli plays to small houses for a little over 50 bucks a ticket and is always beaming, always performs and heck just lives with a great passion for life and is always so grateful anyone even came to see her and that she can still do what she loves best. You can have all the love and all the money and all the fame and adoration in the world and still be so unhappy. Or you can have none of that and be happier than you've ever been and carry on with just as much passion and love. I had a rough year, you know? Worst ever to be really honest. I had some people I thought were my friends betray me. I nearly lost the love of my life and my best friend. I took a beating financially. I lost confidence in myself and my talent. I had some truths that I thought were concrete crumble. Believe it or not, I heard -- really heard -- for the first time recently that old addage about the true test of your character being how you handle yourself in the face of adversity. I'm ashamed to say that when the going got rough this year, I retreated and I shut down and I made things worse for myself. I didn't handle things very well at all in the face of adversity, so what does that say about my character? Liza Minnelli has had a life that could be looked at as one of the most tragic imaginable, even though she will never see it that way, God bless her. Through a painful upbringing, many divorces, friends dying, addictions, money problems, voice problems, weight problems, lawsuits -- she keeps smiling and keeps performing. I saw her perform days after the David Gest accusations and I saw her perform weeks after her best friend and lyricist Fred Ebb's death. She never lets anything get in the way of her passion for life and her love for people. From now on, when the going gets rough, I want to be a Liza, not a Barbra. And that was a very important lesson for me to learn this year -- and one I probably wouldn't have totally realized if I hadn't seen them both perform as bookends this week. And that may be the only thing that could have made those outrageous Babs ticket prices actually worth it! I heard that Liza was doing a second 1:00 am invite-only show for Vegas performers and celebrities, so I managed to sweet talk the ushers about my birthday enough to get them to let me into the show. But Mikey was tired and has been sick and didn't want his sleep schedule thrown off getting back into L.A. at 7:00 am just to see what could be the exact same show again. He said he would stay if I really wanted to, which was sweet, but I could tell he really wanted to go. And believe it or not, yes, he and his happiness are more important to me than Liza. LOL... Oh God, how far we have come in a year. Today is my actual birthday. I turn 27 at 5:30 pm, at which time I will be at dinner with a few friends. Just a low-key, small birthday dinner. Nothing too crazy as I have to get back to work and my crazy holiday schedule in the morning.
Black Friday Shopping
I always get most of my Christmas shopping done the day after Thanksgiving, but I've never been the kind to wake up at the crack of dawn and brave the crowds to get those "earl morning" sales. Well, this year, I don't want to spend outrageous like I have in past years so I figure if I can get more bang for my buck by waking up a little early, that's what I have to do, right? A little early? Nut-uh. These folks were serious. Some stores were opening today at 6:00 am. Which meant I had to be up to feed my pup, hop in the shower and get ready at 4:30 so that I could be out the door by 5:30. Ugh. Maybe this will get me back on a decent sleep schedule if nothing else. Hell, if I can wake up at 4:30 to go shopping, I can sure as well wake up at 6:00 for the gym. At first, I was seriously disappointed. Angel Benton, who moonlights as a manager at Bath & Body Works in a Westfield Mall, told me that all of the Westfields he knew of in the area were opening at 6:00 am. Not the case with the Century City one, I'm afraid! I went straight out there and the only thing opened was Macy's -- and they weren't even having any sales! None! I was appalled. The other stores were all opening at their usual hours. Ugh. But I had read online that the Beverly Center was opening at 8:00 am and I was sure there would be so sales there. So in the meantime, I killed two hours at Target and Best Buy in West Hollywood. Now, here's where the bargains begin! 40 Christmas cards for $1.99. Oh yeh, good shit sold dirt cheap! I was in hog heaven and spent over an hour there. The line at Best Buy was way too long to even consider so I made a browse before hitting up the Beverly Center, which had a LOT of good sales. Some stores were taking 20 - 40% off of your entire bill! I even hit up the Grove afterwards. I was on a roll! I got all my shopping done and barely spent anything! Definitely the right thing to do, getting it done now instead of waiting until later and spending an arm and a leg.Mikey and I went to go see the movie Bobby this afternoon which just made me weep. Our country was so filled with hope before he died. I have to talk to my mom and find out if she remembers, seeing as she was 8 years old when he was shot. Go see it if you get a chance. What a cast! It is only 7:20 pm but I think I'm going to turn in pretty soon. I've been up since 4:30 am and have to be up early again tomorrow for the drive to see Liza Minnelli in Vegas. ...As the birthday bonanza continues!
Happy Thanksgiving
I awaked early this morning to make it over to Mikey's in time to watch Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in its entirety -- and let's just start there, shall we? Nothing really needs to be said other than this: Julie Andrews. Singing. Again. After all these years. (With the exception of that two-note ditty in The Princess Diaries 2.) And she sounds good! God, the divas are REALLY coming through for my birthday this year! What kind of message am I supposed to gleam from this? Am I supposed to soak up their energy, go out into the world and be one of my own? LOL Mikey and his mother were both sick and dragging for part of the morning. Mikey made a kick ass breakfast for us though before we got started on dinner. Though Mikey's mom and I are more "traditionalists" when it comes to Thanksgiving dinners, Mikey likes to add his own Martha Stewart flavor to things. He brined the turkey this year and instead of stuffing it with stuffing, used this combination of apples, cinamon sticks, onions, rosemary and sage that seep through the turkey to give it flavor. I have to give him credit, it was a damned good, juicy turkey! But I missed the stuffing from the bird. Just not the same! Lots of other dishes too and good family time with his mom and one of his brothers as we cooked and watched Breakfast at Tiffany's -- which neither Mikey or myself had ever seen. Afterwards, I ran over to Brandon Baker's place to meet up with Angel Benton, Kyle Foxxx, Jonathan Chang, Tom, Travis and more for our own little Thanksgiving get together. I was delirious from lack of sleep and lots of food, probably on a sugar high, but inside was giving thanks for having a group of friends I can now be my normal crazy self around that in the past only Mikey really got to see. "Yeah, that's kind of a double edged sword isn't it?" Tom cracked. LOL... Love him. Fucker.I have to say, the most classic thing of all was Jonathan Chang. Thanksgiving is traditionally a "dress up" day for most people. At least casual dressy. In fact, I was on my way to Mikey's and saw so many people in slacks and button ups carrying pies in their homes that I turned around and went home to change from the hoddy and jeans I had on to the outfit I'd worn a few hours for The X Show this week, just to play it safe. So it's really classic that I get to Brandon's and Jonathan Chang, who is never caught dead in anything but a button up, would make his Thanksgiving dinner appearance in jeans and a black wife beater tank. LOL... The man slays me! Last year, I gave a long list of all that I'm thankful for and it hasn't really changed much in a year. (You can find it in the archives.) But this year, I'm most thankful for family and friends. My mother has been there for me this year in so many ways, I find it seriously impossible to count them. I think for the first time this year I went from seeing her as my "best friend" to really opening up to let her in and be my "mom." She can be "Just Jen" to everyone else but she's become the defintion of all that a mother should be to me. Meanwhile, I have made great strides at repairing my relationship with my father who continues to inspire me with his heart and his creative spirit on a daily basis. My boyfriend... my God, my boyfriend. He is the best man I've ever known. Period. And I feel closer to him than ever after the hell we went through together and separately this year. And friends, well Susie believes in me and makes all my dreams come true while Angel will listen to me ramble indecisively and ponder philosophically for hours and hours on end. She's pushed me to be the best version of myself I can be. He's helped me find myself underneath all of this so many times that it's finally starting to come out as I go into my 27th year this go around. For them and for my friends at Bradnon's Thanksgiving, and every other person who has touched my life this year, and you know who you are, I am grateful.
Did You Confess?
As my Power Birthday Week continues, it was amazing to see Madonna's Confessions Tour pre-Thanksgiving special on NBC tonight. Brought back great memories of opening night here in Los Angeles. The special is so well directed and beautiful captured. It was also great to see what the show was like later in the tour as opposed to the first evening when they were still working out kinks, had the opening night jitters, etc. Madonna's voice in the special is even stronger than it was when I saw her and the whole thing serves as a reminder of what a great dancer she is. That's how she started, you know? On a dance scholarship! But decided she wanted the fame and stardom of the rock world instead. But boy can she move better than any pop star we've had in a long time. Speaking of which, that dancer of her's, Cloud, should start his own career if he can carry a tune because he is ten times more talented than Michael Jackson, Wade Robson or anyone else I can think of was at their peak. Extremely well done and directed too. So the cross scene wasn't in it? Eh, no big whoop. We'll get it on DVD I'm sure. I think I was more disappointed by the omission of "Lucky Star" honestly! But I'm sure they cut certain songs for time. Here's the opening number, "Future Lovers/I Feel Love," for anyone who missed it.
"X" Meets Brent & Bobby
We had the best crowd (thanks guys!) and the best best show yet at The X Show tonight at RAGE. I'm starting to let go and get the hang of the new format a lot more. I was interacting with audience members more than I usually do throughout the show; especially in my opening where I carried on full-on conversations from the stage with Angel Benton, Jonathan Chang and Mario Cruz. The evening's featured guests were Brent Corrigan and Bobby Trendy, both of whom were enthralling and well spoken though in completely different ways!Brent talked out "the scandal," of course, for those in the audience who had yet to hear his side of the tale. He revealed the box cover of his upcoming directorial debut from his own company. He said that it will be available in the next few weeks from his web site, BrentCorriganOnline.com. He also performed a strip tease act in a soccer uniform that really wowed the crowd! I heard several people commenting on how he gets better and better at dancing every time he performs. Maybe sooner or later, he'll take to the road and start featuring. Call up David Forest, Brent! You definitely know how to bring in a good crowd, not to mention a supportive and responsive one at that! ;-) Bobby Trendy, as Angel put it in his blog, "outfunnied Bruce Vilanch even!" It was really something. He talked about how he claims to have slept with 15,000 men, shared a hot tub with Brent Corrigan while he was still underage, that Anna Nicole has never heard of Trimspa and that her son was actually the father of her new child, that Jonathan Chang was his babysitter growing up and that he single-handedly masterminded bringing down Christian Owen's store in West Hollywood. I should mention, however, that after each of these things, he added, "That's just my opinion!" Sort of his own version of Kathy Griffin's, "...Allegedly!" He was a riot and them doubled in half. After the show, I met DeWayne, a "constant reader" and huge supporter of mine. I'd met him a while back at Micky's but not when I knew who he really was. He came all the way from San Diego to see the show, so I have to give him props for that. I can't thank him enough for continuing to be a real supporter of not only mine, but Brent's and the gay porn industry in general. I flirted subtly with a cute bartender (who made one fine ass blueberry lemonade!) until Brandon Baker and Rusty arrived. Brandon and I briefly discussed the upcoming RentBoy.com Cruise, during which time I ranted and raved about a lack of communication regarding a few things. I hope he knows I was mostly kidding. ;-) Truth is, I can't freaking wait for the cruise! It's on the Monarch of the Sea going to Ensenada, Mexico from Friday, December 8th - Monday, December 11th. I think it is going to be so much fun and I'm really honored to be billed as a VIP host for the thing along with Angel.. Which, basically means, as of right now, that I just mill about, work the crowd, make sure everyone is entertained by being my usual loud and obnoxious self while doing God only knows what on my off time in the Chang/Sechrest Suite. Yes, we're sharing a room. Jonathan Chang and Jason Sechrest. LOL... Sit down, bitches! We're rockin' the boat! Actually, don't sit down. Just bend over. Brent Corrigan and his always charming boyfriend Grant stayed for the first half of the Dreamgirls Revue with me. I've gotta say, I still love me some Chad Michaels because he was the first drag queen I ever thought really had some fierce talent -- but holy crap does that Dolly Levi give him a run for his fucking money! That bitch can dance! And never ceases to make my jaw drop with each and every number. Anyway, it was an early evening for me. I went home half way through the show and wasn't even buzzed. Too much work to be done before the continuation of Power Birthday Week.
