I think "Parasol" is about fear, in particular fear of being hurt and fear of progress. We all have these fears but how we deal with them is where we differ. We can hide beneath our personal parasols where we're safe from... well, sun cancer I guess. But then you never get to really see or feel the sun for yourself.
