Posse Blogs
Speaking of archetypes (see yesterday's "Twelve Faces of Jason" blog), Tori Amos announced this week that she will be role playing on her May 1st release, American Doll Posse, personifying five very different women and telling the very political and personal stories of how they each see the world today. She'll also be taking each of the five women on tour with her (from left to right): Santa, Clyde, Isabel, Tori and Pip. Naturally, we gays are ecstatic. Costumes and wigs. We couldn't be happier. Most brilliant of all though is Tori's most recently hatched marketing scheme of giving each "doll" her own blog, updated frequently and hidden online for her fans to find! She says, "Instead of hosting an Easter egg hunt, this year I'm hosting a posse hunt. Happy hunting!"
Dozens of "fakes" popped up immediately, but there were a few with publish dates prior to the announcement. They also sound the most legitimate and carry Tori's unique prose. (With the exception of maybe Pip's. The jury is still out on that one.) Here are the four we're tracked down so far:
Santa's blog: http://www.myspace.com/iampossesanta
Clyde's blog: http://clydespeaks.blogspot.com/
Isabel's blog: http://www.tagworld.com/isabeldocuments
Pip's blog: http://pipamericandollposse.blogspot.com/
Here's the latest leak from the forthcoming album, "Teenage Hustling."
And wow, it's a rock song! Sounds utterly hot! I wonder which "girl" it belongs to.
