Liza Interviews My Chemical Romance

Liza Minnelli interviews the hard rocking My Chemical Romance frontman Gerald Way in the new issue of Interview magazine, where she proves the old addage that interviews are often as much about the journalist as the subject!

For those not already aware (I don't think I had mentioned it here yet), Minnelli is featured on the band's new album, Welcome to the Black Parade, in the song "Momma." (Take a listen in the clip below, good stuff!) The legend says that what drew her to the band was their fearlessness and "that sense of 'fuck it' but 'fuck it' with style!"

Minnelli gives a rare sound byte about the comparisons to her own momma, Judy Garland, in the interview, stating, "I think it's so weird when people come up to me and say, 'Oh, you're just like your mother,' you know? I want to go, 'No, she sang about being afraid and wishing for things, and I sing about getting them and celebrating things!'"
