One-Night City
Like anytime I write lyrics about a city's history, it also seems to be able to relate directly to the people there at the time too. I don't aim for that. It just happens. The ground on which we walk often tells us everything we need to know, wise from its own experiences.
These words are oddly appropriate in relation to the tension brewing between some of my friends aboard the cruise (have you read anyone's blog other than mine lately? then you'll know what I mean) and even the purpose of the cruise itself.
Ensenada, by the way, is called "The Cinderella of the Pacific" because its neighboring sisters used to shun it and now it is such a huge tourist attraction. In fact, that's pretty much all it is. People getting off boats and back on them, visiting the city just for one day and night, make up the majority of its population! The city is just one big port, one big vagina basically! Talk about a girl liking one night stands! I think the Rent Boys and Ensenada will get along quite nicely.
There's also an episode of South Park that where Kenny gets trapped there but everyone thinks he's in Hell in case you're confused on that reference.
There's other hidden references in there too about Ensenada's history, but I don't want to give all her secrets away. Anyway, without further ado...
ONE-NIGHT CITY
Just south of Sin
I'm a-comin', girl.
Hot little girl.
Slutty likes the strangers since she's been crowned queen.
Long after the prince turned into a king.
Long after the sisters stopped their bitching, stopped being so mean.
Hot little boys down there.
Quenched then parched then quenched again.
Gotta find with these boys the one shoe to fill.
Gotta find Ken-Kenny, lost somewhere at sea they say.
See he's in Hell heat from years without his needs
Quenched then parched then quenched again.
...His needs.
Just saying need a change of scenery.
Like I said, the city and the Rent Boy crew -- and yes, even myself -- have a lot in common these days. ;-)
Be back Monday afternoon.
