Missed The Boat
Yup.
Missed it.
That's right. The boat and I did not connect.
What sucks is I was actually there 20 mins. before the boat was scheduled to leave. The boat was still there. They just wouldn't let me on it. I guess there is some cut-off time where they close the gates beforehand. Would've been nice to have been informed about that, but whatever. I now understand why people were leaving at 2:00 pm to get there as I was going, "Um, isn't that a little early if we all just need to be there before 5:30?" You'd think someone would say, "Actually, you need to be there by..." I know a lot of people met up at Brandon's earlier in the day, but I didn't receive that invite either.
Oh well. Not their fault. My responsibility to have figured everything out on my own.
I also didn't realize how far out the port was. There was no gague of how long it would take on the directions. It just said to take the Harbor exit after getting on the 110 from the 101, which made me think it was right after that. ...No. About an hour after that. I was in the car for four hours total there and back in rush hour traffic, literally screaming until I was hoarse and crying all the way home.
I was really looking forward to this way more than I knew. And I'm not sure why because I don't usually look forward to anything. Why was I so desperate for an escape from my life?
As I mention yesterday, it would've been a much needed change of scenery.
I also really just wanted to hang out with my friends Angel, Brandon, Jonathan, Rusty, Tom and Kyle. I am always working and don't have time to go out to clubs with them every night and I don't think they realize how much I totally adore them and appreciate having them in my life. More than the trip, more than the cruise, more than the food, I was just so happy to be finally getting some quality time to hang out with them in a room that wasn't fucking blaring with music. And I must say it's pretty crushing to the ego to be standing on that port, looking at the boat and saying to youself, "Yeah, well... the party's gonna go on without you, babe."
I mean, I'll be able to see some of them in New York next weekend too for The Gay Erotic Expo, but not really. The only time we'd really have to hang is after the expo. That's why they're spending an extra day there, but I can't because I have to come back for The X Show.
Adding insult to injury, I found out this morning that my good friend Rocky died. You can read more about that in the "News Desk" blog at: www.jasoncurious.com/desk/
I guess he needed a change of scenery too.

They didn't hold the boat for a big star like you?
Unbelievable.
Why were people leaving at 2 pm ? you ask.
Probably because they had to go from the 101 to 110 to the Harbor exit in rush hour traffic.
Vouz DOES live in LA, doesn't vouz?
Sorry about your friend Rocky and sorry you missed the boat, literally! You should have done it like in the movies, and hired a helicopter to fly you there to catch up with it on the high seas, that's what high gay drama deserves, LOL. Hopefully it will give you some alone time with your man and you can just chill for a few days with no expectations but your own. Enjoy it babe......GG
I just heard the news... I'm sorry, but I was laughing so hard picturing you yelling and screaming at the staff as the boat slowly drifted away... Oh so close. It must have been very frustrating...
