Friends
Up until my senior year of high school, I was probably the most unpopular kid in every class, constantly picked on for being, well let's just say "different." And even as I grew into my own and into my own community, I felt like two or three really close friendships were all you needed. I was incredibly protective of myself and kept everyone at arm's length as merely acquaintances or associates with the exception of two or three. If anything, my circle of friends were all people who were involved in my work life as well. Which is fine, but those can get a little competitive and the line between work and play gets fuzzy and besides, one should just be well rounded, ya know?
All of that has changed in the past six months.
I don't really write much about the specifics of my personal life and the people in them anymore, but I wanted to take this opportunity to give a shout out to my friends. The old ones who came back to me when I needed them. The ones who stuck around with the "acquaintance" label until I was ready. The new ones who have introduced me to careers and lifestyles outside the bubble of West Hollywood and the porn scene. The readers who have become more than readers! And of course, the one or two true blooded friends who have stayed through thick and thin.
My friends. I don't think a lot of them really understand how much it means to someone who has never had them. I think you've all taught me how to love people.
I find myself wondering how I ever got by and how I ever thought I could really get anything accomplished without you??! lol
Love!

Is that the personality of Sagittarius has? Because you are writing my story as well!
Friends are someone you can learn from, someone offers you different perspectives, someone you get inspirations from, someone you would need supports from even if it's a tiny favor or word.
In return I do the same thing (Wink wink Jason, one month ago flashback). >:)
Otherwise, sorry to say, there are people who might think I'm their friend/s but in my perspective, they're chat buddies.
ps. If I remember it right, Bette Midler is featured on Barbara Walter's interview today (25JUN) on Sirius 102.
In our moments and in our own ways, we have wounded each other. Now years later, we still bear the scars from our tumultuous friendship. In many ways we were children together and we raised one another. We could have turned our backs, but instead we opened our arms. Time and time again.
The reason we are today two bodies driven apart by time and distance yet two souls forever bound by experience is that we've always opted to forgive each other and to give each other the benefit of the doubt. We saw the glint of something worth working for and as iron sharpens iron, so we sharpened one another. Thank you, Jason. For believing in me. For sharpening me. For bettering me.
Jason, I can honestly say that while I am primarily a long-distance contanct, I would like to some day be something of a friend with you (wow that sounds awkward don't it?). You are a driven, intelligent guy with a lot more intriguity and soul than most people our age and certainly most Californians. So fuck ya, it would be an honor.

Hi Jason I read this and thought Damn Jason (or I ) need to do a blog post about Friendship. Online vs Real World is their a difference and does it matter?. I too have 3 close friends in the Real World I also have 3(close) in the online world. Traditionally we discount the online friends the way people used to talk about a "pen pal" But you know what my "online" friends know more about me than the RW! I told friends online about my life that my close friends don't know. Indeed a good close friend (who came up to Mickys to see your show last June) kind of called me out because he read about a traumatic event in my life ONLINE and he has known me for years. I find many online friends and acquaintances to be good people in my life and I value them! living in So Cal I was happy I have met you twice in person. Both times my impression of you was positive (only later was I aware how rough 06 was for you) I looked at you and thought Jason may be in "the Bubble" he may be a part of the WEHO Pornoland but he sees thru the Bullshit! He can peel superficial people like an onion! Maybe you will be this generations Truman Capote! You know in the end the Celebs hated Truman but I think we need "the Observer" someone who see's the pimple on a pretty things ass but can still smile and say "You look fabulous Girl" I like you Jason because deep down we know (because you don't hide or run from it) you were just like us in school, you have the insecurity's, the drama in your life. The BF problems, You are REAL! And in Lotus Land Jason that is a MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENT!
Dewayne - First of all, thank you. A little speechless over all that. So I'll just say thanks and you'll know that I mean it. lol... I don't have a lot of online friends (when I'm online I'm always working) but the ones I do have I always tend to think of as "good friends I haven't met yet." I know many people have hordes of online friends though who they never intend to meet and they feel safer and more "themselves" with them than anyone else. Part of me feels like that's a shame because they're not actually getting to experience the joy of being themselves from outside the shield of the computer monitor -- but another part of me is just glad that those people have found an outlet where they can be themselves at all. xo L, J. P.S.: Since you're a long time reader, do you like the new format of the "Diary" -- I call them mini-"essays" -- or do you miss when I used to detail everything about my personal life?
Hi Jason I'm partial to the essay, it seems like an improvement, of course maybe your life has a little "less drama" & Thats a good thing! The writing is where you shine, I know I know Your an Actor BUT I think your best as a writer. Too bad writers are the lowest caste in Hollywood. Go figure who is going to make Tom Cruise seem "brilliant"? Okay probably no writer alive but you get the drift,,,;)
